Nail care clipping every 4-6 weeks is very important. The amount of time between nail trims depends on how quickly your dog's nails grow and how quickly they are worn down. The average dog should have his nails clipped every three to four weeks, but it should be done as often as needed to keep the nail from touching the ground when your dog is standing.

We offer introductory puppy pampering grooming sessions so that your puppy can gradually get used to the process and we can explain how you can care for his/her coat at home in between visits to the salon. * 1st Visit (Aged between 12-15 Weeks) £20 * 2nd Visit (Aged between 16-19 Weeks) £25 * 3rd Visit (From 20-24 Week old) £30 we advice at least 2/3 puppy introductions An adult groom can be carried out from the age of 6-9 months £35 12 months groom £40 What’s included: *starting from 30-45 minute session depending on age requirements and each individual dogs’ tolerance. A puppy groom can last up to 1.5 hours. This enables the groomer to take things at the puppy’s pace. It’s important not to rush and to introduce the salon experience in a calm and fun way because it's a great place to be! *we introduce the puppy to the bathing area. This is a secure bath tub with a gentle shower. Shampoo is diluted in lukewarm water and worked through the coat. Once rinsed we introduce them to a low pressure dryer. If the puppy is concerned at first we will pop a little hood over the ears to muffle the sound. Once the puppy is relaxed, we can remove the hood and carry on with the drying process. Longer coats can be brushed out with a soft slicker brush once they are dry. We gently clean the puppy’s ears and trim their nails. We like to file the nails as well, as this leaves them rounded and smooth. To finish, we like to use a natural spritz, and take a photo of your now salon-perfect puppy.

From April 6 2016 it will be a legal requirement to have your dog microchipped in England and Wales. At The Golden Paw we can chip you dogs and litters in your home. minimum fee is £35 if less then 4 puppies. We are trained by PeddyMark Microchipping your pet gives them the best chance of being identified and returned to you if they become lost or stolen. How it works A tiny microchip is inserted under the dog’s skin The microchip can be scanned and matched to the owner’s contact details, which are kept on a database, such as the National PetLog databasehttps://www.petlog.org.uk/. This gives the pet their own unique 15 digit code. If your dog is lost or stolen you have the peace of mind that when found by a dog warden or taken to police station or a vet , that your dogs chip can be scanned and matched to the data base , and you can be reunited with your dog Pets are lost without it Thousands of pets are lost every year and many are never reunited with their owners microchipping can help to change that. Microchipping is only effective if you keep your details up to date,.

Some dogs are not able to join in the fun at daycare and are better suited to a visit from us in your own home. This maybe because you have a puppy who is too young or your dog is happier with home comforts. These dogs still enjoy company and a visit from us that can break up their day while you are out. We can take them out to relieve themselves, play a game, feed, brush and make a fuss of your pooch, leaving them happy to have seen a friendly face. All walks will last a minimum 45 min – this does not include any travelling time from your home.

For puppies up to 9 months old. This will last for 60 min in the comfort of your puppies own home – Will include ‘playtime’, cleaning up any accident that may occur, a small amount of training subject to the owner’s requirements, feeding as required & topping up water bowls. We can send you updates if you wish. *As a rule of thumb, a walk will be 5 mins for every month old they are.
