Microchipping

From April 6 2016 it will be a legal requirement
to have your dog microchipped in England and Wales.

At The Golden Paw we can chip you dogs and litters in your home.
 minimum fee is £35 if less then 4 puppies.

We are trained by PeddyMark
Microchipping your pet gives them the best chance of being identified and returned to you if they become lost or stolen.

How it works

A tiny microchip is inserted under the dog’s skin
The microchip can be scanned and matched to the owner’s contact details, which are kept on a database, such as the pettrac This gives the pet their own unique 15 digit code.


If your dog is lost or stolen you have the peace of mind that when found by a dog warden or taken to police station or a vet , that your dogs chip can be scanned and matched to the data base , and you can be reunited with your dog Pets are lost without it


Thousands of pets are lost every year and many are never reunited with their owners microchipping can help to change that.


Microchipping is only effective if you keep your details up to date,.

Pregnancy Scanning

We are trained by Animal Ultrasound Association and VET image Solution And we pass both our levels of training.

We offer a home scanning service.
Pregnancy can be confirmed from 28 days after the last mating, although optimum results are achieved from around day 32 - 35 of your bitch's pregnancy.

Scanning your bitch can be beneficial for many reasons. Distinguish between a pregnancy and a phantom pregnancy. Being able to plan ahead, if you show your dogs you can plan your shows

Get your bitch acclimatised to her whelping quarters . Adjust diet accordingly. Informing potential customers of your expected litter. It enables you to find suitable homes for your puppies

Scanning is non invasive and safe for your your bitch, .
An ultra sound gel is used on your bitch , to help ensure a clear picture, a small amount of hair on heavily coated breeds may need to be clipped away to for optimum scan quality. this is only ever done with the owners permission.


Most scans take between 15-30 minutes and confidentiality assured.


The scan involves a detailed examination of the abdomen to confirm pregnancy .
Pregnancy detection can be carried out 28 days from the last mating and at anytime thereafter. 28 days is the optimum time for estimating the amount of puppies due,


During the scan I can freeze the ultrasound picture on the screen and print you a photograph of the scan.

Outside Swindon extra cost

Puppy Visit - Pop in

For puppies up to 9 months old.

This will last for 60 min in the comfort of your puppies own home – Will include ‘playtime’, cleaning up any accident that may occur, a small amount of training subject to the owner’s requirements, feeding as required & topping up water bowls.
We can send you updates if you wish.
*As a rule of thumb, a walk will be 5 mins for every month old they are.

Dog Walking / 1h Home visit

Some dogs are not able to join in the fun at daycare and are better suited to a visit from us in your own home.

This maybe because you have a puppy who is too young or your dog is happier with home comforts. These dogs still enjoy company and a visit from us that can break up their day while you are out.

We can take them out to relieve themselves, play a game, feed, brush and make a fuss of your pooch, leaving them happy to have seen a friendly face.

All walks will last a minimum 40 min – this does not include any travelling time from your home.

Day care AM or PM or evenings Golden puppies

This service is for your puppies and families who can’t take time off with new additions we offer half or full day day care for puppies under 6 months of age

Pm session start from early as 11 am
Evening session start 6-10pm
