Blinked Beauty: balancing
lectures and glowing
clients

When you meet Dayenteley Weyman today, you’ll see a confident young entrepreneur running her own beauty business. But behind Blinked Beauty lies a story of courage, curiosity, and a strong sense of vision. Dayenteley isn’t just a lash stylist — she’s also a full-time pedagogy student, a creative multitasker, and someone who brings her dreams to life with purpose. She balances studying with entrepreneurship, lectures with content creation, and personal growth with customer care. And she does it all in a way that feels like second nature.

A careful start with a clear goal

She first worked at a coffee shop in Schiphol Airport, but the idea of becoming a lash stylist had been on her mind for a while. Still, she didn’t fully trust the courses available — they were often taught by inexperienced stylists and felt a bit superficial. So she took her time to research, talked to professionals in the field, and only started once she felt confident in the quality. Coincidentally, her mom had a friend with over twelve years of experience. At first, that friend wasn’t interested in teaching, but Dayenteley’s passion and persistence won her over. “I really had to convince her,” she laughs. “But in the end, she gave me a chance — and I’m still incredibly grateful for that.”

Independence and quality

Her journey into entrepreneurship was strongly influenced by her mom, who always emphasized the importance of independence and following your own path. “She always told me: go after your dreams.” That mindset became the driving force behind everything Dayenteley does. She quickly mastered the technical skills, but what really struck her was the reaction from her clients. “You literally see people light up after a treatment. That feeling, making someone happy with your work, is so special.” That energy keeps her motivated to keep growing, improving her skills, and delivering quality.

But passion alone isn’t enough. The path from practicing on a doll head to running a fully booked agenda required strategy and smart branding. “I didn’t start with super low prices — I wanted to make a good first impression.” She offered free treatments in exchange for content, which helped set the tone for her brand: professional, polished, and visually appealing. One of her first videos even went viral on social media — something she hadn’t expected at all, but it gave her a major visibility boost. “It felt like confirmation that I was on the right path.”

Entrepreneurship means planning and investing

Still, going full-time wasn’t easy. “You have to do everything yourself: admin, communication, stock management… it’s so much more than just the treatments.” Combining that with a full-time study program is a challenge in itself. She quickly learned that running your own business means creating structure, taking responsibility, and thinking ahead. “You have to learn to plan, to say no, and most importantly: to keep investing in yourself and your business.” One thing that’s always consistent: investing in quality materials. “For example, I use a metal tweezer that lasts a long time — but those things cost money. Same with good glue. But if you want to offer quality, you need to invest.”

Growth through content and customer connection

The growth of Blinked Beauty was partly fueled by social media, where Dayenteley can fully express her creativity. “I love editing — I can easily spend hours on a single video.” She combines her knowledge of her audience with a strong sense of aesthetics — and it works. Besides videos, word-of-mouth still plays a huge role. Clients tell their friends about her, and her network keeps growing steadily. Even small touches have an impact, like business cards with a QR code. “That way people can book straight away. It seems simple, but it really works.” Her growth is organic and steady — just the way she likes it.

But her biggest strength might lie in how she connects with clients. “Clients open up to me, and I do the same — we often have deep conversations, and that makes them come back.” What she offers goes beyond just a treatment; it’s an experience. She creates a safe space where clients feel free to be themselves, making each appointment both beautiful and personal. “People share their stories with me, and that builds trust. To create that kind of connection with someone you might only see once a month — that’s something really special.”

Peace of mind with Vev

When she was looking for an online booking system, she wanted something that looked professional, was easy to use, and matched the feel of her brand. She came across Vev by chance. “I saw the booking page of a nail artist I follow. It looked so good! The colors, the design… I immediately thought: this fits me. And it turned out she was using Vev.” With her busy study schedule, having control over her calendar is essential. “Vev makes my work — and my life — more organized. It gives me peace of mind! And in combination with my studies, that’s a huge plus. I’ve also noticed that it helps me earn more — for example, I can open up a few ‘lost’ hours after a lecture so I can still get some work in on a study day.”

No more no-shows

The option to require deposits gives her more certainty, and as a result, she no longer deals with no-shows. “You can set the percentage yourself. Super easy and professional.” Being able to tailor the layout to her own style is another big plus. “I’ve really been able to give it my own vibe.” Payments now also go through Vev. “That works perfectly. Clients think Tap to Pay is pure magic, and it just feels super professional.” While those tech features are important, what really appeals to her is the combination of ease and appearance. “You can tell it’s made for entrepreneurs like me. It’s modern, it’s flexible — and it instantly makes your business look better.”

Business and personal growth

The future? It’s full of plans. “I definitely want to finish my pedagogy degree, and maybe even do my final year abroad.” She dreams of studying in another country, discovering new cultures, and continuing to challenge herself. At the same time, she wants to keep expanding her beauty knowledge. “I want to specialize in brows and follow a few more courses. There’s always room to grow and I’m really looking forward to that.”
