Building Home Life:
Jenny Scott's answer
to remote work
It was two years ago when Jenny felt isolated and restless, working from her small sea-side home outside of London. Instead of succumbing to the solitude, Jenny embraced her proactive nature, and developed the idea of Home Life – an oasis for people like her, who needed a space to work without feeling isolated.
The spark of Home Life
Home Life now stands as ‘a little London office by the sea,’ catering primarily to remote workers who have shifted from London but still carry jobs there. Having a worked out idea is one thing, actually executing the idea is a different kettle of fish. What made Jenny accomplish it? “I would go crazy working at home, like many in our little town. When the right space also came available, I was sure I had to go through with it.”
The core inspiration behind the business wasn't just to create a working space but to combat the loneliness many faced, offering flexibility and a sense of community. Her words echo a sense of care and genuine concern for those around her, making Home Life more than just a space – it's a community. Jenny: “The atmosphere is relaxed, it feels like home and it is driving customers to keep coming back.”
Searching for a flexible booking system
When asked about the challenges of running a business, Jenny's main struggle had been a booking system for her flexible workspace. She has battled with booking systems that were everything but simple. Jenny: “I also wanted to have the option for people to come last-minute, when they feel isolated. When I discovered Vev it was a huge relief: I was finally able to make the bookings as flexible as possible. Vev is so simple, it's just amazing and it looks so good! I also like the way that you can customize your profile, really easy.”
For Jenny, Vev stands out not just for its efficiency, but its seamless integration, allowing her to bypass the traditionally complex backends of other platforms. It’s ease of use has made Vev fundamental to her business operations.

Jenny's entrepreneurial prowess doesn't stop at Home Life. She has also built a Community Parenting Platform named 'Mother's Meetings.' This platform aims to offer mothers an inspiring new chapter in their lives, showing them the myriad of possibilities that motherhood can bring.
Jenny is no stranger to the challenges of entrepreneurship. With multiple ventures under her belt, she emphasizes the need to seek out experts and lean on those more knowledgeable when needed. Showing vulnerability and not pretending to know everything is vital.
Her advice to budding entrepreneurs across the world is simple yet powerful – ”Just do it and stop overthinking it. It's better to try and fail rather than not try at all. When you got an idea, you got to go for it!”

Jenny Scott is a testament to the saying, “Where there's a will, there's a way.” From creating a community-driven workspace to celebrating motherhood, she embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship.
Her journey, coupled with her penchant for using easy-to-use booking systems, showcases how simplicity and passion can pave the way to success. Jenny’s future plans include expanding her ventures. However, she intends to do less and achieve more: “With Vev I can do this, it’s less work but it's more productive.”
