Passion for language:
Ana’s global classroom
Anastasia Burak, the creative force behind Onetworussian, has transformed her love for languages into a thriving business. Originally from Belarus, Ana has always been immersed in the arts, beginning her journey as a professional violinist. However, the onset of the pandemic shifted her path.

Ana started providing online classes for Russian when she couldn’t perform as a musician anymore. This pivot allowed her to combine her passion for language with her desire to connect people, leading to the birth of Onetworussian. “It was a challenging time, but it also opened new doors for me,” she reflects.
With students from all corners of the globe, Ana‘s reach is truly international. “I have students from Australia, America, all over Europe, Korea, and even Africa,” she shares. This global clientele speaks to the universal appeal of her teaching approach and the increasing demand for Russian language skills.
Ana‘s mission is clear: to cross cultural gaps and help her students connect with their Russian-speaking partners, families, and colleagues. “It's a great mission to connect people through language,” she emphasizes.
Her classes cater to a wide range of needs, from professional dancers in the U.S. who need to understand their Russian coaches to individuals who simply love Russian literature and culture. “I've had students who study Russian because they love Tolstoy or Dostoevsky,” Ana says, smiling.
Through Onetworussian, she not only teaches a language but also nurtures connections that transcend borders, proving that with the right tools and a lot of heart, one can create a meaningful impact in the world. “It's about more than just learning a language; it's about building bridges between cultures.”

Learning new skills
Starting Onetworussian wasn't without its challenges. Initially, Ana relied on teaching platforms, but as her popularity grew, she ventured into creating her own website. “I built my website entirely by myself, learning everything from YouTube,” Ana says.
The transition to managing her own business meant learning new skills in marketing, website development, and customer relationship management. “Everything was new to me, from building the website to setting up a booking system,” she explains. Despite these hurdles, Ana's dedication has been a key driver of her success. “It was difficult at the beginning, but I love doing things myself and being creative,” she adds.

Streamlined appointments with Vev
One of the significant boosts to Ana‘s business was integrating Vev‘s booking system. “The products I used before had basic features locked behind paid plans. Vev provided a simple, clear booking system that meets my needs perfectly,” she notes.
The seamless integration of Vev‘s features, such as booking confirmations and QR codes, has streamlined her operations, allowing her to focus more on her students. “It‘s simple, stylish, and everything is very clear,” Ana adds, highlighting how Vev has made managing appointments effortless.
“The QR code feature is a big hit with my students, especially the younger ones,” she says. Ana also appreciates Vev‘s support and responsiveness, adding, “Whenever I had questions, the Vev team was always there to help.”
Adapting to the diverse needs of her students has been both a rewarding and challenging experience for Ana. “I have students of all ages, and their familiarity with technology varies greatly,” she explains.

Future visions
Looking ahead, Ana envisions expanding her offerings and reaching even more students. “I'm thinking about more content for my students, like smart platform courses for those who prefer studying independently,” she explains.
Ana also plans to promote her Russian-speaking club more widely and is considering launching a podcast. “The speaking club has been a hit, and I want more people to know about it,” she says enthusiastically.
Her ultimate goal is to continue connecting people through the Russian language, fostering a supportive community where learners can thrive. “In five years, I hope the club will be my main focus, and maybe I‘ll have a podcast too,” she dreams. Ana is also exploring the idea of developing more comprehensive courses and interactive content to make language learning more accessible and engaging.
